editThe Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus (PFH) is a traditional institution in Berlin that has been providing children with a good start in life since 1874. As a foundation under public law, the PFH brings together a variety of facilities dedicated to the education and social support of children, adolescents, and families. These include a vocational school for social pedagogy, a specialized secondary school for health and social affairs, ten daycare centers, all-day care at schools, family centers, and open child and youth work.
Key Products and Services
editThe PFH offers a wide range of educational and care services. The vocational school of the PFH allows aspiring educators various training paths, which can also be combined with a bachelor's degree. The daycare centers, such as the Kita Kastanienallee in Charlottenburg's Westend, provide loving care for children from ten months until they start school in an inspiring environment. Additionally, the PFH is engaged in open child and youth work, nature and craft education, as well as youth social work in schools.
Mission and Values
editThe mission of the PFH is to create development-promoting living and learning conditions that enable children and adolescents to grow into self-determined and responsible individuals. The PFH is committed to the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and actively works against exclusion and discrimination. As a member of the Diversity Charter, the PFH promotes an environment where the individuality of each person is recognized and supported.
