THE HALL - Parkour Creation Center Oberhafen
editAbout Us
editTHE HALL, the Parkour Creation Center in the Hamburg Oberhafen district, is Northern Germany's first and unique sports and meeting place specializing in Parkour and Freerunning. Founded by the non-profit organization Parkour Creation e.V., THE HALL opened in 2017 and has since taken on a central role in the local and regional Parkour scene.
Key Products and Services
edit- 600sqm Parkour Park: The hall offers an extensive facility with numerous obstacles, a bar structure, a foam pit, air track, a fitness area, and a course room. These facilities provide ideal conditions for Parkour and Freerunning, regardless of the weather.
- Courses and Free Training: Various courses and free training opportunities are offered, allowing participants of all ages and abilities to engage in the sport.
- Integration and Inclusion: Special projects like 'Live Free, Run Free' and 'kNOw OBSTACLES' as well as the dance and movement theater ensemble 'Salon International' promote the integration and inclusion of refugees and other socially disadvantaged groups[4].
Mission and Values
editThe main mission of THE HALL is to create an open and inclusive meeting and sports venue that is accessible to as many people as possible. The focus is on promoting Parkour and Freerunning, but also on networking the creative potential of the scene with the children, youth, and cultural scene. Values such as mutual respect, consideration, and overcoming cultural and linguistic barriers through movement are at the heart of the work[2][4].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
edit- Integration through Sport: As an acknowledged support club of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) in the area of integration through sport, THE HALL works intensively on the integration of refugees and other socially disadvantaged groups. Projects like 'Live Free, Run Free' and 'kNOw OBSTACLES' aim to sustainably integrate participants into the community and motivate them to participate[4].
- Cultural and Social Diversity: The participants of THE HALL are culturally very heterogeneous, with an unusually high proportion of female participants. This fosters a diverse and inclusive community where movement serves as universal communication and cultural and linguistic barriers are overcome[4].
- Healthy Lifestyle: Through the athletic and physical demands of Parkour and Freerunning, participants are motivated in the long term to lead a healthy, self-aware, and responsible lifestyle even outside of training[4].
THE HALL is more than just a sports facility; it is a place of encounters, creativity, and integration, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds and providing them with the opportunity to develop physically and mentally.
