Oclean

Oclean is a non-profit organization founded in 2019 by three sisters, Hannah, Lena, and Marie, in Hamburg. With the support of their friend and graphic designer Tati, they are passionately committed to reducing marine pollution by starting in the city. Their goal is to raise awareness about the impacts of waste, particularly cigarette butts and plastic, on our environment and to actively contribute to waste reduction.

Oclean organizes monthly public clean-ups in Hamburg, where volunteers of all ages are welcome to help clean the city of waste. These events are funded either by Oclean itself or through sponsors. In addition to public clean-ups, Oclean also offers tailored clean-up events for companies. These team events not only promote environmental protection but also strengthen team spirit and provide a fun and educational experience. Furthermore, Oclean is involved in educational work in schools to inform and raise awareness among children and young people about waste and plastic issues.

The mission of Oclean is to create awareness about waste management and motivate people to actively contribute to reducing waste and plastic. With creative and engaging actions, as well as vibrant communication, Oclean aims to inspire people to advocate for a clean environment. The organization places great importance on conveying the message without a raised finger, but with much motivation and commitment.

Oclean actively advocates for more sustainability in cities by educating the public about the negative consequences of waste and providing practical solutions for waste reduction. A central concern is the reduction of cigarette butts, which land on the streets in billions worldwide every day and cause significant environmental damage. Oclean promotes the use of pocket ashtrays and the proper disposal of cigarette butts to prevent pollution of water bodies and the poisoning of animals and humans.

Oclean collaborates with various companies and organizations to support its mission. Satisfied clients include well-known companies like Google, Hapag Lloyd, and Jägermeister. These collaborations enable Oclean to expand its reach and mobilize even more people for environmental protection.
