my Boo GmbH, founded in 2012 by two students from Kiel, Maximilian Schay and Jonas Stolzke, is an innovative social business that specializes in the production of bamboo bicycles and e-bikes. The company is headquartered in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, and works closely with a social project in Ghana.

my Boo offers a variety of bamboo bicycles and e-bikes, including men's and women's models, city bikes, trekking bikes, racing bikes, and e-bikes with mid-motors. The bamboo frames are lovingly handcrafted in Ghana and then assembled in their own manufactory in Kiel. Bamboo, a natural fiber composite material, offers excellent properties such as stability, lightness, and springy as well as damping capabilities, ideal for bicycle frames[2][4][5].

The mission of my Boo lies in the connection of social engagement, innovative products, and sustainable economic action. The company supports educational projects in Ghana through the sale of its bamboo bicycles, such as the construction of the Yonso Project Model School, which is attended by over 500 children. In Ghana, my Boo offers more than 35 fairly paid jobs with future prospects. In Kiel and Schleswig-Holstein, the company also employs over 130 staff, many of whom work in the 12 Küstenrad e-bike stores[3][4][5].

my Boo is a pioneer in sustainable mobility and social responsibility. The production of bamboo frames in Ghana takes place under fair conditions and promotes the local economy. The sale of the bicycles finances educational projects and secures a stable future for employees in Ghana. Additionally, my Boo received the Lammsbräu Sustainability Award 2020 for its innovative and sustainable business models[4].

my Boo and its subsidiary Küstenrad are among the fastest-growing companies in Europe, recognized by the Financial Times and Statista. The company achieves an average annual growth of over 70 percent and plans to open 27 Küstenrad e-bike stores in the north by 2027[3].
