editThe Musicboard Berlin is a unique funding institution that has actively supported the pop music scene in Berlin since January 1, 2013. Founded by the Berlin Senate in close collaboration with actors from the music scene, the Musicboard aims to strengthen the cultural and economic impact of pop music in Berlin, both nationally and internationally.

Additionally, the Musicboard awards scholarships and supports labels in digitizing their work. It has already supported more than 60 projects, awarded 25 scholarships, and established two residencies at Villa Aurora in Los Angeles. Furthermore, it supports labels in digitization and adapts to the challenges of digitalization and the growing music industry. Through close collaboration with existing structures and the creation of clear responsibilities, the Musicboard has achieved a positive response in the music economy and contributes to the growing significance of Berlin as a music location[1][4].
Current Developments
editThe Musicboard Berlin GmbH, founded on September 16, 2014, provides the work of the Musicboard with a long-term and stable structure. With the growing music location Berlin, which encompasses a turnover of 700 million euros, 1,200 companies, and 12,000 employees, the challenges and tasks of the Musicboard are also increasing. It continuously works to meet the needs of the music scene and to master the competition for space and infrastructure in the growing city[1].
