The goal is to spread knowledge about HIV and protection against it, to strengthen the identity of people affected by HIV, and to promote self-determined and informed decision-making. The organization advocates for an open, accepting society and works on the destigmatization of HIV, AIDS, and non-heterosexual lifestyles as well as non-cisgender identities[2][4].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
edit- Primary Prevention: Focus on the groups most affected by HIV in Germany, such as gay men, migrants, drug users, and people in custody.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Commitment to a more diverse and inclusive society, with volunteer groups that are as diverse as the people they support.
- Non-Profit Status: Recognition as promoting the common good and non-profit, with support from donations and grants from the Free State of Bavaria, the district of Upper Bavaria, and the state capital Munich[2][4].
Current Initiatives
editThe Münchner Aids-Hilfe remains actively engaged in society, for example through the sale of the Aids Teddy, which raises funds, and by participating in events like Pink Christmas. Additionally, the organization advocates for the improvement of the new Self-Determination Act and promotes the integration and acceptance of people with diverse backgrounds[3].
