MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. - promoting integration and participation
editAbout us
editSince its founding in 2015, MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. has been the central national network for migrant organisations in Thuringia. Our mission is to represent and promote the political, economic, social and cultural interests of over 50 migrant organisations as well as the municipal migration, integration and foreigners' councils in the Free State of Thuringia.
Key products and services
edit- Networking and support: We network migrant organisations and promote their cooperation with various state actors and networks at state and federal level. This includes support for mergers, association foundations and related bureaucratic procedures[4][5].
- Qualification measures and events: MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. regularly organises qualification measures, information and exchange events to increase the capacity and visibility of migrant organisations. Examples of this are the "MigraTalk" and expert conferences on topics such as anti-discrimination work.
- Promotion of participation: We promote the participation of migrants and people with a migration history at all levels of society and their active involvement in democratic decision-making processes at local, state and federal level[4].
Mission and values
editOur main mission is to promote intensive cooperation and regular exchange between migrant organisations, refugee initiatives and free social actors. We are committed to the structural strengthening, professionalisation and independence of migrant organisations. Our work is based on the values of mutual appreciation and respect of people from different cultural backgrounds in order to strengthen social cohesion.
Sustainability goals and initiatives
edit- Anti-discrimination work: MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. is actively involved in anti-discrimination work, in particular through cooperation with the Anti-Ziganism Reporting and Information Centre (MIA) and other regional advisory bodies.
- Community Initiative Future Ways East: In cooperation with various foundations and organisations, we have initiated the "Community Initiative Future Ways East" project to encourage and financially support people in the eastern German states who are committed to social coexistence and respectful coexistence.
- Political participation: We promote the political participation of migrants through digital networking meetings for municipal candidates with migration biographies and other initiatives to achieve greater diversity in parliaments at municipal and state level.
Current activities
editMigraNetz Thüringen e.V. is involved in various current projects and events, such as the DeZIM Talk on the social consequences of the rise of the AfD, the opening of the Intercultural Week (IKW) 2024 and participation in regional conferences on the Thuringian integration concept.
Through our work, we strive to promote a more inclusive and understanding society in which integration is understood as a mutual process.
