Mirganetz Thüringen

MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. has been the central state network for migrant organizations in Thüringen since its founding in 2015. Our mission is to represent and promote the political, economic, social, and cultural interests of over 50 migrant organizations as well as the municipal migration, integration, and foreign advisory councils in the Free State of Thüringen.

• Networking and Support: We connect migrant organizations and promote their collaboration with various state actors and networks at the state and federal levels. This includes support for mergers, founding associations, and the associated bureaucratic procedures[4][5].
• Qualification Measures and Events: MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. regularly organizes qualification measures, information, and exchange events to increase the capacity and visibility of migrant organizations. Examples include "MigraTalk" and specialist conferences on topics such as anti-discrimination work[5].
• Promotion of Participation: We promote the participation of migrants and people with a migration background at all societal levels and their active involvement in democratic decision-making processes at the municipal, state, and federal levels[4].

Our main mission is to promote intensive collaboration and regular exchange between migrant organizations, refugee initiatives, and independent social service providers. We are committed to the structural strengthening, professionalization, and independence of migrant organizations. Our work is based on the values of mutual respect and appreciation for people from different cultural backgrounds to strengthen social cohesion[4].

• Anti-Discrimination Work: MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. is actively engaged in anti-discrimination work, particularly through cooperation with the Reporting and Information Center for Antiziganism (MIA) and other regional counseling centers. We organize specialist conferences and workshops to raise awareness of antiziganism and other forms of discrimination[5].
• Community Initiative Future Paths East: In cooperation with various foundations and organizations, we have initiated the "Community Initiative Future Paths East" to encourage and financially support people in the East German federal states who are committed to social coexistence and respectful living together. This includes micro-project funding in the areas of exchange and dialogue, democratic culture, and strengthening civil society in rural areas[5].
• Political Participation: We promote the political participation of migrants through digital networking meetings for municipal candidates with migration biographies and other initiatives to achieve greater diversity in parliaments at the municipal and state levels[5].

MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. is engaged in various current projects and events, such as the DeZIM Talk on the social consequences of the rise of the AfD, the opening of the Intercultural Week (IKW) 2024, and participation in regional conferences on the Thüringen Integration Concept[2][5].

Through our work, we strive to promote a more inclusive and understanding society in which integration is understood as a mutual process. We are committed to increasing the visibility and capacity of migrant organizations and strengthening their contribution to social development in Thüringen and beyond.
