    About us

    The National MINT Forum is a unique community of interest that has been working since 2012 to promote and strengthen education in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT) in Germany. Founded on the initiative of acatech and the BDA-BDI initiative "MINT create the future", the forum brings together the expertise and commitment of over 30 institutions, including scientific institutions, foundations, professional associations, university alliances and other civil society actors.

    Mission and values

    The main mission of the National STEM Forum is to strengthen the entire STEM education chain, from early childhood through school and vocational to academic education and lifelong learning.The Forum represents the belief that STEM education is the basis for the professions of the future and thus essential for all children and young people.

    • Working groups and recommendations: The Forum operates various working groups that deal with specific topics of STEM education and develop educational policy recommendations and common quality standards.
    • Networking: It promotes exchange and cooperation between the various STEM actors in order to initiate and support joint projects and initiatives.
    • National MINT Summit: The Forum organizes the National MINT Summit annually to discuss current areas of action in MINT education and to discuss implementation possibilities with top representatives from politics and administration.
