MetropolisNet

MetropolisNet is a unique network of various types of organizations focused on the development and implementation of local strategies for employment and social integration in numerous European cities. The network has its roots in a transnational network established in 1998 to support EU initiatives for local employment, including the Territorial Employment Pacts. Since March 2009, MetropolisNet has been registered as an official EEIG (European Economic Interest Group)[1][2].

The main mission of MetropolisNet is to provide local solutions to support sustainable development in metropolitan areas within the European context. This is achieved through the exchange of information, experiences, and know-how among partner organizations, as well as through the identification and implementation of best practices and innovative projects at the European level.

MetropolisNet is committed to promoting employment, social cohesion, and urban development in large European cities and metropolitan areas. The network serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and the sharing of good practices in the areas of social integration, equal opportunities, lifelong learning, business development, and labor market strategies[1][2].

• Research and Best Practices: MetropolisNet identifies and shares best practices in the areas of labor market, urban development, and social policy, and supports the implementation of these practices in member cities.
• Policy Development: The network strengthens the role of the regional and local level by applying the local dimension of the European employment strategy and promotes collaboration between practitioners and policymakers[1][2].
