About Lupine Mentoring e.V.
editLupine Mentoring e.V. is a non-profit organization based in Berlin that is dedicated to supporting children of primary school age from refugee families. Our main concern is to provide these children with individual support through a 1:1 mentoring program. The children we care for come from countries such as Iraq, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, and Ukraine and have found a new home in the Berlin districts of Zehlendorf, Lankwitz, Lichterfelde, and Steglitz.
Key Products and Services
editThe core of our work is the 1:1 mentoring, where a mentor dedicates 2-3 hours weekly to a child over a period of nine months. This time is used to support the child in their academic and extracurricular interests and to develop their potential. Once a month, all mentoring pairs come together to participate in creative activities organized in collaboration with cultural workers and art educators. These activities aim to broaden the children's horizons and provide them access to diverse forms of expression.
Mission and Values
editOur mission is to provide children from refugee families with a stable and supportive environment in which they can develop their skills and strengthen their self-confidence. We place great importance on intercultural exchange and promoting good coexistence in the neighborhood. Our mentors are carefully prepared and supported in their tasks to ensure that they can best assist the children.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editLupine Mentoring e.V. is committed to the sustainable integration of refugee families into society. Through our programs, we not only promote the individual development of children but also contribute to strengthening the community. We work closely with local partners such as the Berliner Stadtmission and the German Red Cross to achieve our goals and improve the quality of life for families.
Cooperations and Support
editOur work is made possible through the support of the Integration Fund in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district, which is promoted by the Senate Commissioner for Participation, Integration, and Migration. In addition, we cooperate with various organizations that advise and support us in implementing our mentoring concept. These include the Welcome Alliance Steglitz-Zehlendorf and the Children's and Youth Care House with the Inclusive Adventure Playground.
Lupine Mentoring e.V. is always looking for dedicated mentors and supporters who share our vision and want to help positively influence the lives of refugee children. Together, we are working to create an inclusive and supportive community where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
