LKJ Sachsen

The LKJ Sachsen e.V., founded in 1992, is the umbrella and professional association for cultural child and youth education in Saxony. The association represents the diversity of its 18 national professional associations in the fields of theatre, music, art and media as well as cultural institutions.

• Educational offers and projects: The LKJ Sachsen e.V. offers a wide range of educational offers and projects for children and young people, including workshops, holiday workshops, intercultural and international youth encounters as well as competitions such as the Saxon Children's and Youth Art Prize.
• Voluntary services: The association coordinates and organizes voluntary services such as the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) of Culture, the Federal Voluntary Service (BFD) of Culture and Education, as well as the European Solidarity Corps (ESK) [2] [3].
• Further education and conferences: The LKJ Sachsen e.V. offers further education offers and conferences for multipliers and interested parties in order to strengthen professional and methodological competences in the field of cultural education.

The LKJ Saxony e.V. advocates the fundamental right to cultural participation and barrier-free access for all children and young people in Saxony. The association is based on the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and promotes self-efficacy, acquisition of skills, intercultural learning and civic engagement. The work of the association is characterized by lobbying, cooperation and networks to secure the structures in the workplace and provide needs-based means.

• Education equity and cultural diversity: The LKJ Sachsen e.V. is working to implement education offers throughout Saxony, especially in rural regions, and thus contribute to better education equity and cultural participation.[2][3]
• Diversity orientation: As part of the "Profil: Socioculture" process promotion programme of the Socioculture Fund, the association is working to establish itself as a more diversity-oriented association and to expand access.
• Citizenship Engagement: Through the promotion of youth volunteer services and international youth encounters, the LKJ Saxony e.V. supports the citizenship engagement of young people and thus promotes a strong and committed community.

• Saxon Night of Youth Cultures: The LKJ Saxony e.V. regularly organizes large-scale projects such as the Saxon Night of Youth Cultures, which offer youth cultural actions throughout Saxony and encourage sustainability.
• Campaign for Cultural Education: The association runs a campaign to highlight the importance of cultural education for self-determined, democratic and socially shaping personalities and to gain support for them.

The LKJ Sachsen e.V. is a central actor in the Saxon youth and cultural work, which has been committed to the cultural education and participation of children and young people for over 30 years.
