Since 2018, the National Association for Sustainable Saxony e.V. has been promoting sustainability in Saxony through networking, consulting and educational opportunities. It brings together civil society actors, companies and committed individuals to strengthen sustainable development in the region.

editThe National Association for Sustainable Saxony (LVNS) is a civil society and non-partisan alliance that has been combining and strengthening its commitment to sustainability in Saxony since 2018.
Key products and services
edit- Networking and networking: The LVNS provides a network that promotes professional and strategic exchange, creates synergies and enables new cooperation, in particular between civil society actors, politics, administration, business and other areas of society.
- Consultation and cooperation: The association advises actors at local and regional level and organises participatory exchange formats to promote sustainable development.
- Educational and consultative offers: Various events, competitions and consultative and educational offers are carried out to give impetus to sustainable development and to create opportunities for exchange and discussion.
Main mission and values
editThe main mission of the LVNS is to bundle and strengthen the commitment to sustainability in Saxony.The association sees itself as a spokesperson and representative of the interests of sustainability activists and as a contact and co-partner for state government and state policy operations as well as for multipliers and multipliers from other social areas.
The LVNS stands for a holistic understanding of strong sustainability, based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.The values of the association include networking, support and cooperation, with the aim of promoting a vibrant culture of engagement and open discourse.
Sustainability goals and initiatives
edit- Sustainable Economy: The association promotes an economic system that saves resources, respects planetary boundaries and focuses on human well-being. Projects for everyday resource protection are made visible and active people in this area are networked.
- Sustainable regional and local development: municipalities are supported in implementing global goals through local action, and citizens are involved in this process.
- Strengthening of rural actors: The association supports the networking of sustainability actors in rural areas of Saxony in order to become effective together.
- Climate change and the energy transition: The energy transition and climate change are at the heart of the issue, particularly in the coal-leaving regions of Lausitz and the Central German region.
- Sustainable nutrition and agriculture: climate- and environmental-friendly regional value chains for healthy nutrition and strengthening the local economy are promoted.
- Engagement, civil society and democracy: A vibrant culture of engagement, open discourse and the upholding of democratic values is seen as the basis for sustainable development[1].
Partnerships and networks
editSince 2022, the LVNS has been a partner for Saxony in the Network of Regional Sustainability Strategies (RENN), a network that connects activists from all sectors of society to promote sustainable development in the regions and support the implementation of the 17 Global Sustainability Goals.
