About Katholische Kirche Heilig Kreuz
editThe Katholische Kirche Heilig Kreuz in Bergen-Enkheim is a vibrant parish community committed to faith, community and service to others. As part of Parish 28 in the Diocese of Fulda, it offers a wide range of spiritual offerings and social activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
At the center of the community is the celebration of the sacraments such as baptism, first communion, confirmation, marriage and anointing of the sick. Regular services in the Heilig Kreuz and St. Nikolaus churches as well as in the prayer room offer space for prayer, reflection and encounter. The church music, designed by organists, the Schola cantorum, Jubilate and the Barbarossaband, enriches the services and community life.
In addition to the spiritual offerings, the community is strongly involved in the social sector. The senior citizens' club, the birthday visiting circle and the sick visiting service take care of older and sick community members. Through fundraising campaigns such as the Sternsingeraktion, the Patenschaft Kongo, the Stammeskinderprojekt, H.E.L.P. and the Chancenstiftung, the community supports people in need worldwide.
Community is very important in Heilig Kreuz. Festivals such as the Adventsmarkt, the Pfarrfest and Fronleichnam offer opportunities for meeting and celebrating together. Family circles, groups such as the Rosenkranzgebets-Gruppe, the Förderkreis Orgel und Orgelmusik an St. Nikolaus, the Pilgergruppe and the Jugendclub promote cohesion and engagement of community members. Ecumenism is actively lived through the Christlich-jüdischen Dialog, the Ökumenischen Arbeitskreis, the Ökumenischen Kinderchor, the Ökumenischen Frauentreff and the Weltgebetstag der Frauen.
An important part of the community is the Katholische Kindertagesstätte Heilig Kreuz, which offers loving and qualified care to children aged 0 to 6 years. The Kita works according to a Christian guiding principle and attaches importance to the religious education of the children. In addition to the regular groups, there is a nursery group and a forest group, which offer the children diverse development opportunities. The Kita maintains a close partnership with the parents and actively involves them in the pedagogical work.
The Katholische Kirche Heilig Kreuz sees itself as an open and inviting community in which everyone is welcome. It is committed to justice, peace and the preservation of creation and wants to contribute to a society worth living in.
