About Junge Islam Konferenz
editThe Junge Islam Konferenz (JIK) is a dialogue forum and a platform for the exchange on Islam-related topics and questions of coexistence in a post-migrant society. It is particularly aimed at young adults aged 17 to 27 and provides them with space to strengthen and shape an inclusive society. The focus is on working with people affected by racism, as well as with their allies. JIK promotes a respectful and diversity-sensitive dialogue in which every voice is heard.
Key Products and Services
editJIK offers a variety of formats, including annual federal conferences, media academies, summer academies, and the Narrative Change Academy. These events provide young people with the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts, attend creative workshops, and build local networks. The conferences are central meeting points that convey knowledge, create creative moments, and serve as a forum for dialogue.
Mission and Values
editThe mission of JIK is to connect young people from various social backgrounds and give them the opportunity to bring their perspectives into the public debate. JIK sees itself as a catalyst that transfers knowledge from young people into political, administrative, and media structures. It promotes a post-migrant self-understanding in which differences are recognized and radical diversity is lived.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editJIK is committed to an open and diverse society in which diversity is seen as a strength. It works to strengthen the participation and representation of young people and provides spaces where marginalized voices are heard and supported. By promoting alliances between people affected by racism and those not affected, JIK contributes to the creation of a solidarity community.
Engagement and Network
editJIK is more than just a conference; it is a vibrant network of over 400 former participants who are active throughout the year. This network thrives on the ideas and commitment of its members. JIK encourages active participation and provides support for the implementation of initiatives.
Team and Leadership
editUnder the leadership of Dr. Asmaa Soliman, who specializes in the public sphere of European Muslims, a dedicated team works to further advance the European orientation of JIK. The team consists of experts in the fields of politics, communication, and networking, who work together to achieve the goals of JIK.
The Junge Islam Konferenz is a project of the Schwarzkopf-Stiftung Junges Europa and stands for a pluralistic and inclusive society in which diversity is recognized as normality.
