About Jugenderholungswerk Hamburg e.V.
editThe Jugenderholungswerk Hamburg e.V. is a non-profit organization that has been living by the motto "A Right to Vacation for All Hamburg Children" since 1985. In close collaboration with the city of Hamburg, the association enables children from financially weaker families to have unforgettable vacation experiences. Every year, over 1,200 children participate in the diverse vacation trips funded by the Authority for Labor, Health, Social Affairs, Family, and Integration (BAGSFI).

editThe heart of the Jugenderholungswerk is the more than 30 different vacation trips that offer children and young people from Hamburg the opportunity to make new friendships and experience exciting adventures. Whether swimming in a mountain lake, chilling at the beach, playing sports, climbing, horseback riding, canoeing in Sweden, sailing on the North Sea, or skiing – there is something for every taste. The offer is complemented by the Theater Language Camps, which are specifically designed for third graders with language support needs. Here, language skills are playfully enhanced through theater and other creative activities.
Mission and Values
editThe mission of the Jugenderholungswerk is to provide all Hamburg children, regardless of their financial situation, access to relaxing and enriching vacation experiences. The association places great importance on inclusion, equal opportunities, and the promotion of social skills. The values of the association are reflected in the dedicated work of the volunteer supervisors, who are equipped with solid training and the Youth Leader Card (JuLeiCa) to ensure a safe and enriching vacation time for the children.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editThe Jugenderholungswerk Hamburg e.V. actively advocates for social sustainability by enabling children from disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in vacation trips. Through collaboration with partners such as the Hamburg Social Authority, Camp Adventure, and the Children’s Culture Caravan, a wide range of cultural and sports activities is offered that contribute to the personal development of the children. The cooperation with FC St. Pauli Rabauken and the HipHop Gang also promotes team spirit and cultural participation.
