About Jüdische Gemeinde Frankfurt
editThe Jüdische Gemeinde Frankfurt is a corporation under public law and a central point of contact for Jewish life in Frankfurt am Main. It offers a wide range of facilities and services for its members and the wider public to meet the diverse needs of Jewish life in all phases of life.
The community's offerings include religious, cultural, social and educational areas. These include synagogues, prayer times, kosher catering options, its own adult education center (JVHS) with a diverse range of courses, as well as synagogue tours to convey the history and significance of the Westend Synagogue.
The Jüdische Gemeinde Frankfurt operates several daycare centers, a primary school and a secondary school (I. E. Lichtigfeld-Schule), a youth center (AMICHAI), a religious school and a senior citizens' center to ensure the care and education of children and young people as well as the care of older community members. In addition, the community offers advice and social support in various life situations.
An important part of the community's work is the promotion of Jewish culture and traditions. The community initiates and supports a variety of cultural events throughout the year, including the Jewish Culture Weeks and Film Days, readings, concerts and Community Events.
