Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e. V.

Since the founding of Help more than 40 years ago, we have consistently worked according to the principle of help for self-help. We provide effective emergency assistance in disasters and are committed to the sustainable fight against poverty, hunger, and diseases worldwide.

On July 15, 1981, representatives from all parties represented in the then Bundestag, as well as personalities from science and the church, gathered at Frankfurt Airport. Their goal: to help the millions of people who were fleeing due to the Soviet military intervention in Afghanistan. Together, they founded the aid organization Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e. V..

Today, Help is active in over 20 countries to enable people affected by humanitarian crises such as conflicts or natural disasters to lead an independent life. The help for self-help continues to be at the center of our project work and determines our actions.
