Grüner Wirtschaftsdialog e.V.

The Economic Association of the Greens and the Grüner Wirtschaftsdialog merged in June 2024 to form a strong and influential association. This new association, consisting of over 250 companies and leaders from the economy, serves as a bridge between business and politics. Our goal is to drive the transformation towards a socially-ecological market economy while uniting the goals of sustainability and competitiveness.

Our mission is to strengthen the dialogue between business and politics to jointly develop solutions for the pressing challenges of our time. We advocate for a future-oriented economy and society that is ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable. Good politics requires economic competence, and a strong economy needs responsible politics. This conviction forms the core of our work.

• Dialogue Formats: We offer various dialogue formats to promote open communication and better understanding between companies and political decision-makers. These include expert forums, workshops, and conferences on topics such as energy policy, digitalization, innovation, and social aspects.
• Expertise: Our members are renowned experts from various industries, including energy, chemicals, automotive, and healthcare. They bring their experiences and competencies into the dialogue to develop practical solutions.
• Position Papers and Positions: We regularly publish position papers and positions on current economic policy issues, such as reducing bureaucracy, trade policy, and climate-neutral transformation.

• Climate Neutrality: A central goal is to achieve the climate targets of Paris and to transform Germany's industrial location into a climate-neutral and innovative future.
• Social-Ecological Market Economy: We are working to transform the existing economic model into a socially-ecological market economy to address the challenges of global warming and social cohesion.
• Innovation and Digitalization: We promote innovations and digitalization to make the economy future-proof and to support the transformation towards green technologies.

Our association is politically independent and is financed through personal and supporting memberships. Membership requires a commitment to our statutes and our goals, not party membership. Our boards consist of experienced leaders from both business and politics.

• Merger and Restart: The merger of the two associations has made us twice as large and influential. We are now working together from new offices in Berlin and pooling our resources to intensify the dialogue between business and politics.
• Current Issues: We are addressing current issues such as the energy transition, reducing CO2 emissions in the shipping sector, promoting Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), and developing a strategic trade policy for Europe.

Through our close exchange and joint efforts, we aim to ensure that Germany and Europe are on the path to a sustainable and competitive future.
