    About Burg Eltz

Burg Eltz, often referred to as "the most beautiful castle in Europe," takes visitors into a fascinating world of the Middle Ages. For over 900 years in the possession of the Eltz family, this fairytale castle sits untouched in the middle of a picturesque natural landscape between Eifel, Mosel and Rhein.

Burg Eltz offers a unique experience that harmoniously combines history, architecture and nature. Visitors can take a guided tour of the castle and admire the authentically preserved interiors, the impressive treasury with over 500 exhibits from nine centuries and the armory. The castle houses works of art of European importance as well as weapons and everyday objects from eight centuries.

The castle is surrounded by a nature reserve of over 300 hectares, the Eltzer Wald, which is home to a diverse flora and fauna. Hiking trails invite you to explore the untouched nature.

The Eltz family has always been committed to preserving this cultural heritage. Values such as family, tradition, sustainability and responsibility towards the community shape the family's actions. The castle has been open to the public since the 19th century and offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in history and experience the beauty of medieval architecture.

Burg Eltz strives to preserve this unique cultural asset for future generations while creating an unforgettable experience for visitors from all over the world. The Eltz family is committed to protecting the surrounding nature and asks visitors to use the designated paths to preserve this valuable biotope.
