About Genan
editGenan is a world-leading company in the environmentally sound recycling of end-of-life tires. Since the development of the recycling technology in 1990, Genan has continuously evolved to create innovative and high-quality solutions for a sustainable circular economy. The company operates plants in Denmark, Germany, Portugal and the USA with a combined processing capacity of over 400,000 tons of tires per year.
Genan transforms end-of-life tires into valuable secondary raw materials, including rubber granulate, rubber powder, rubber modifiers, rubber pellets, steel and textile fibers. These materials find diverse applications in areas such as asphalt and bitumen, tire production, sports and leisure areas (playgrounds, running tracks, artificial turf), industrial rubber products, paints, coatings, adhesives and plastics.
Genan's mission is to recycle end-of-life tires in the most environmentally friendly and economically advantageous way, thus making a significant contribution to a greener future. The company attaches great importance to transparency, quality and innovation. Genan has joined the UN Global Compact and is committed to its 10 principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption.
Sustainability is the core value of Genan. The company is actively committed to environmental protection, climate protection and resource conservation. Genan has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 42% by 2030 compared to the base year 2022 as part of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). By recycling end-of-life tires, Genan helps to reduce CO2 emissions, minimize environmental impact and recover valuable raw materials. Genan strives to replace even more raw materials in the future through continuous innovation.
