FOUNDATIONS 20

The Foundations Platform F20 is a global network that has united more than 80 international foundations and philanthropic organizations from various parts of the world since 2017. Founded in the lead-up to the G20 summit in Hamburg, F20 aims to align the policies of G20 countries with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations[2][4].

F20 focuses on the climate policy of G20 countries and emphasizes the role that philanthropy can play in addressing the global climate crisis. This includes:

• Advocacy, Research, and Dialogue: F20 develops and publishes the F20 Recommendations annually, which contain specific demands to the G20 heads of state and government to respond to the global climate crisis. These recommendations include scaling up renewable energy, protecting biodiversity, and decarbonizing global financial markets[2].
• Networking and Dialogue Forums: Through events and networking activities, F20 creates spaces for effective discussions between civil society, the business and finance sector, think tanks, politics, and science. The goal is to find global, holistic, and cross-sectoral solutions to the most pressing global challenges[2][4].

The main mission of F20 is to bridge the gap between civil society, the private sector, and the public sector to promote the implementation of sustainable development within the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Climate Agreement.
