Fairtrade Deutschland
The non-profit Fairtrade Deutschland e.V. aims to support disadvantaged producer groups in countries of the Global South and to improve their living and working conditions through Fair Trade. The association is supported by 36 organizations such as Misereor, Brot für die Welt, Global Nature Fund, and the Verbraucherinitiative. 580 Fairtrade-Towns, 560 Fairtrade-Schools, and 24 Universities implement the idea of fairness at the local level. Fairtrade Deutschland e.V. does not trade in goods itself but advocates for more fair trade and sustainable consumption. As a member of the international umbrella organization Fairtrade International e.V., which sets the guidelines for Fairtrade-certified products, Fairtrade Deutschland e.V. coordinates its positions internationally. The verification of the standards is entrusted to FLOCERT GmbH, the world's largest social certifier.
