Evangelische Trägergruppe für gesellschaftspolitische Jugendbildung

The Evangelische Trägergruppe für gesellschaftspolitische Jugendbildung (et) is a nationwide professional network that coordinates and promotes political youth education in Germany. It was entrusted by the Working Group of the Protestant Youth in Germany e.V. (aej) and the Protestant Academies in Germany e.V. (EAD) with the task of coordinating its nationwide activities in political youth education, conceptually and content-wise supporting and promoting them.

• Educational Events: The et offers a variety of educational events for young people and multipliers that deal with topics such as democracy, digitalization, global responsibility, and socio-ecological transformation.
• Projects and Campaigns: It develops and implements joint projects, initiates and accompanies actions and campaigns aimed at the political socialization of young people.
• Network Positions: Various Protestant Academies and institutions of the aej have network positions that cooperate with other actors in political youth education.

The et sees itself as a place for lively and discursive engagement with future-oriented concepts of political youth education. Its mission is based on the following values and principles:

• Participation: The interests, experiences, and ideas of young people are taken seriously and are central to the joint educational and participation processes.
• Inclusion: Inclusion aims to enable all young people to participate in political education offerings by removing access barriers and developing needs-oriented offerings.
• Diversity: The plurality of experiences, opinions, and concerns is a positive resource for the joint learning process.
• Gender Mainstreaming: In designing educational events, formats and topics are chosen to create opportunities for participation and discussion for participants of all genders.

The et promotes the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative projects with a focus on sustainable and future-oriented concepts. Current focus topics include:

• Democratic Participation
• Digitalization of Society
• Global Responsibility and Socio-Ecological Transformation
• Living Together in Diversity

These topics are addressed through events, projects, and publications to support young people in their political socialization and to promote their contribution to the further development of democratic culture.

The activities of the et are aimed at young people from different social backgrounds, multipliers from the field of youth and social policy, from initiative groups and civil society organizations, as well as from Protestant youth work. Through these diverse approaches, it is ensured that political education is inclusive and diverse.
