editDeutsche Aidshilfe e.V. (DAH) is a leading umbrella organization in Germany dedicated to supporting and representing the interests of people with HIV/AIDS. With around 115 affiliated organizations and institutions, DAH advocates for awareness about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections. It specifically targets social groups that are particularly threatened by HIV/AIDS, such as men who have sex with men, people from regions with high HIV prevalence, drug users, sex workers, and incarcerated individuals.
Key Products and Services
editDAH offers a variety of services, including telephone, online, and in-person consultations on HIV, sexually transmitted diseases, and hepatitis. These consultations are anonymous and free of charge. A special offering is the Buddy Project, which supports people with HIV in taking their first steps after diagnosis. Additionally, DAH provides training and continuing education for its members and self-help groups and publishes target group-specific materials such as brochures and posters.
