Demokratie in der Mitte

"Demokratie in der Mitte" is a coordination and specialist office of the Partnerships for Democracy, which is committed to strengthening democracy, anti-discrimination, and diversity in the Berlin district of Mitte. The on-site office works in the neighborhoods of Moabit, Wedding, and Zentrum and is funded by the federal program "Democracy Lives!"

• Grant Allocation: The office coordinates the allocation of grants from the action and initiative funds for projects in the funding areas to support initiatives for democracy, participation, and anti-discrimination.
• Actions and Events: It conducts actions and events on the focal topics to network actors in the neighborhoods and the district and provide educational offerings.
• Education and Reflection: The office offers educational programs and creates space for reflection and learning processes, particularly within the framework of the project "Mal laut gedacht – Political Education Kiez".
• Consultation and Support: It advises and supports project sponsors during the application process and offers expert lectures and articles.
• Networking: The office networks actors in the neighborhoods and the district to promote a strong civil society structure.

The main mission of "Demokratie in der Mitte" is to promote an open and supportive society in the Berlin district of Mitte. The values include:

• Democracy and Participation: Strengthening democratic participation and involvement of all citizens.
