Data4Life

Data4Life is a non-profit digital health organization founded in 2017 and funded by the Hasso Plattner Foundation. With locations in Potsdam, Berlin, and Singapore, the company is working to make the world healthier through the digitization of health research.

The main mission of Data4Life is to provide health data comprehensively, digitally, and securely for research purposes to significantly improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. Data4Life offers a range of innovative solutions to make health data researchable:

• D4L Collect: A Sensor Data Collection Platform that enables the integration and standardization of data from sensors, wearables, and questionnaires.
• Data2Evidence Platform: A tool that brings together clinical data from separate systems into an interoperable dataset.
• Metadata Management Tool D4L FAIR: Ensures that research data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable, based on the FAIR principles[3].

Data4Life is committed to several important sustainability goals:

A prominent project is Smart4Health, where Data4Life is working on the development of a patient-oriented electronic health record. Other initiatives include participation in DMEA 2024, where the potential of real-world data in health research was discussed, and conducting digital studies such as the FeMFit study, which links digital questionnaires with wearable data[4][5].
