COMES e.V., founded in 1992 under the name Lebensbrücke e.V., is a provider of independent welfare services aimed at supporting people with learning difficulties or mental disabilities in their participation in the community. Our name, which has been COMES (Latin for "companion") since December 2004, reflects our work philosophy: We accompany and support people on their personal journey.

COMES offers a variety of services focused on integration assistance and youth welfare. Our main services include:

• Supported Living: We offer various forms of outpatient living to give people the opportunity to live independently and self-determined.
• Youth Welfare: We support parents who are temporarily overwhelmed with the upbringing and guidance of their children and provide outpatient youth welfare services.
• Individual Support: Every person who comes to us receives support tailored to their needs. We take the time to discuss the wishes and goals of the individuals and plan the concrete implementation together[2][3].

Our mission is to promote the coexistence of people with and without disabilities, thereby making our society more diverse and humanly mature. We see ourselves as partners of the people we accompany and respect their self-determination. Our work is based on the principles of non-profit and professionalism.

• Mutual Respect: Our service delivery is based on mutual respect and appreciation.
• Professional and Economic Diligence: We work with equal professional and economic diligence to ensure sustainable and effective support[1][2].

COMES is committed to long-term and sustainable solutions to improve the quality of life for the people we accompany.

• Deinstitutionalization: We were pioneers of deinstitutionalization in the former eastern districts of Berlin and continue to advocate for outpatient living forms.
• Investment in the Future: We see favorable conditions for the development of children and adolescents as an investment in the future of our society.
• Employee Well-Being: The well-being of our employees is particularly important to us, as we consider it the most important resource in accompanying people with psychosocial support needs[1][2].

Through our work, we contribute to enabling people with disabilities to lead a self-determined and integrated life, thereby promoting a more inclusive and diverse society.
