Climate Transparency
Climate Transparency
editAbout Us
editClimate Transparency is an initiative focused on promoting transparency and accountability in climate protection. Our work is based on the implementation of the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) from the Paris Climate Conference and supports countries in producing high-quality climate reports and improving their national transparency systems.
Key Products and Services
edit- Climate Transparency Report: Annually, we publish a comprehensive report that compares the climate performance of G20 countries in the areas of adaptation, mitigation, and finance. The report includes detailed country profiles and a summary of key findings, based on 100 indicators[3].
- Knowledge Center: Our platform offers an extensive knowledge center with case studies, guides, and other knowledge products aimed at strengthening the capacities of policymakers, practitioners, and experts[1][4].
- Networks and Communities of Practice: We operate networks and communities of practice that serve as a platform for sharing experiences and learning from one another. These include regional training, webinars, virtual workshops, and direct technical support activities for countries[1].
Mission and Values
editOur main mission is to promote transparency and accountability in climate protection to strengthen trust, credibility, and responsibility among all stakeholders. We advocate for a global response to the threat of climate change and support countries in implementing the Enhanced Transparency Framework[2].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
edit- Climate Protection and Energy Transition: We emphasize the need to accelerate the energy transition and reduce fossil fuels. Our reports and events highlight the importance of more ambitious climate policies and stronger international cooperation[5].
- Climate Finance: We monitor and analyze the climate finance of G20 countries and call for an increase in funding to achieve global climate goals. Currently, only a few countries are contributing their fair share to the annual climate finance of 100 billion USD[3].
- Capacity Building: We support the development of national capacities for climate information services and early warning systems, particularly in developing countries, least developed countries (LDCs), and small island developing states (SIDS)[2].
Inclusive and Coordinated Approaches
editOur work is based on an inclusive and coordinated approach. We work closely with international agencies, countries, and transparency experts to ensure that our platform and services meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholders[1].
Through our efforts, we aim to strengthen a global community working together to address the climate crisis and provide a central platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices in climate transparency.
