Founded in 1980, CIM is headquartered in Eschborn near Frankfurt am Main.
Main Mission and Values
editThe main mission of CIM is to promote positive effects of global labor mobility to create better prospects for developing and emerging countries. CIM advocates for sustainable and fair labor migration that meets the needs of employers as well as professionals and their countries of origin. The values of CIM include partnership, personal responsibility, and the promotion of professionals to achieve development policy goals.
Key Products and Services
edit- Professional Placement: CIM places skilled and managerial professionals from the European Union (EU) and EFTA countries in developmentally important positions in traditional developing countries and transformation countries in Eastern Europe[3][5].
- Integrated Professionals Program (IF Program): This program is aimed at German and EU skilled and managerial professionals seeking deployment within the framework of development cooperation. The professionals receive salary subsidies, social security grants, and preparation for their work in the partner country. After completing their work, they can receive transition assistance for their professional reintegration in Germany[5].

- Migration and Policy Consulting: CIM advises governments in partner countries on improving their migration policies, for example through EU mobility partnerships[5].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editCIM is engaged in various sustainability initiatives:
- Development Policy Contributions: Through the placement of professionals, CIM makes a development policy contribution by reducing unemployment in the countries of origin and strengthening local economies through remittances from migrants[1][3].
- Professional Preparation and Integration: CIM promotes the linguistic and professional preparation of nursing staff as well as their integration after arriving in Germany. This is done in close cooperation with the employment administrations of the partner countries and the ZAV[1].
- Security Aspects: CIM ensures the safety of the placed professionals through its close connection with the GIZ offices in the partner countries, especially in crisis situations[5].
International Recognition and Partnerships
editCIM works closely with international organizations and German federal ministries, particularly with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
