CICAE

The CICAE (Confédération Internationale des Cinémas d'Art et Essai) is the international confederation of arthouse cinemas, founded in 1955. Today, it unites over 2,400 arthouse cinemas with more than 4,400 screens in 46 countries. The organization acts as a network of networks and forms a bridge between international film festivals and cinemas worldwide.

CICAE offers a variety of services and initiatives aimed at promoting and supporting the arthouse cinema industry. These include:

• Arthouse Cinema Training: A comprehensive training program that educates young arthouse exhibitors and film professionals in management skills and helps them address the challenges of the industry.
• Arthouse Cinema Awards: These awards are presented at international film festivals to promote films of artistic and cultural significance.
• European Arthouse Cinema Day: An annual event that increases the visibility of arthouse films and strengthens cinemas in regions that do not have their own arthouse associations.
