editThe Charta der Vielfalt e.V. is an initiative and non-profit organization founded in 2006 that advocates for the promotion of diversity and appreciation in the workplace in Germany. Founded by four companies – BP Europa SE, Daimler AG, Deutsche Bank, and Deutsche Telekom – and supported by the federal government, the initiative aims to create a prejudice-free and discrimination-free work environment.
Mission and Values
editThe main mission of the Charta der Vielfalt is to promote the recognition, appreciation, and inclusion of diversity in the workplace. This includes creating a work environment where all employees, regardless of age, ethnic origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental abilities, religion and worldview, sexual orientation, and social background, receive the same appreciation and support. The initiative is based on seven core dimensions of diversity, which serve as a framework for companies to implement these values[2][3][5].

edit- Signing and Self-Commitment: Over 6,000 companies and institutions with more than 14.7 million employees have signed the Charta der Vielfalt by committing to create a prejudice-free work environment and promote diversity.
- Networking and Connection: The association connects the signing companies and organizations to promote the exchange of best practices and experiences.
- Events and Conferences: Regular events such as the German Diversity Day and the Diversity Conference in Berlin contribute to public awareness and the advancement of diversity management[1][3][4].

- Promotion of Diversity: By recognizing and including diversity, the innovation capacity and competitiveness of companies are to be increased.

editThe initiative is supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees, and Integration as well as Anti-Racism, Reem Alabali-Radovan, and by Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Angela Merkel was the patron of the initiative at its founding[1][3][4].
