Future Bicycle is a dynamic association that was founded on July 17, 2019, by 20 companies from various sectors of the bicycle industry. Since its founding, the association has continuously grown and now has over 100 members, including service providers, manufacturers, retailers, digitalization start-ups, and suppliers of the bicycle industry[1][3][4].

The members of Future Bicycle cover a wide range of products and services, from classic bicycle manufacturers to company bike leasing providers, as well as insurance and innovative start-ups. The focus is on services that promote sustainable mobility, including electric service vehicles, cargo bikes, bicycle trailers, and specialized bicycles for people with disabilities[2][3][4].

The central goal of Future Bicycle is the sustainable mobility transition. The association is convinced that the bicycle is a central element for sustainable mobility in the 21st century. The members work to shape political and social frameworks to strengthen the bicycle in all its variations and promote climate-friendly mobility. Quality and sustainability in their own products and services are essential values of the association[2][3][5].

Future Bicycle is actively committed to the transformation of the mobility industry in Germany. An important success was the introduction of the "0.25 percent rule" for the taxation of electric service vehicles, which is part of the federal government's Climate Protection Program 2030. The association is working to make Germany an international lead market for the bicycle industry and advocates for inclusive mobility concepts that enable people with disabilities to remain active and self-determined[1][3][4].

With the membership of van Raam as the 100th member, the association has made a significant step towards inclusive mobility. Van Raam offers a variety of customized bicycles for people with disabilities, thereby promoting the social participation and mobility of these groups. This initiative underscores the association's focus on sustainability and inclusion[4].
