bee4change: A Mission for Equal Opportunities and Social Justice

    About Us

bee4change e.V. is a social organization that was founded in spring 2015 by a group of young people in Hamburg. Our goal is to enable refugees to gain quick access to our society and thus to a self-determined life.

    Main Mission and Values

Our mission is to promote equal opportunities and social justice by providing comprehensive support to people with migration and refugee backgrounds. We believe that the diversity of our society must be strengthened in order to better integrate disadvantaged groups into society. Our work is based on the values of inclusion, justice, and self-determination.

    Key Projects

    beeMentor

The beeMentor project is our response to the challenges faced by refugee families and individuals upon their arrival in Germany. Since 2015, we have been connecting volunteers (mentors) with refugee families and individuals in a 6-month mentoring program. These mentors assist with everyday challenges such as dealing with authorities, medical appointments, learning German, and homework. Our full-time project management supports the mentors with questions and problems and regularly organizes joint outings and cultural events[2][3].

    HamWatan

The HamWatan project, which has been running since 2022, focuses on strengthening and networking the Afghan diaspora in Germany. In cooperation with partner organizations, we are working to support and connect the Afghan community in Germany[2].

    HRD-Mentoring

The HRD-Mentoring program is a project to support refugee human rights defenders in Germany. Here, we offer specific mentoring and support services to empower this group in their new environment[2].

    Sustainability Goals and Initiatives

Our work is aimed at achieving long-term positive changes in society. Through our projects, we aim to promote the integration of refugees while simultaneously increasing social acceptance and inclusion. We cooperate with other social organizations to effectively pursue our goals and continuously review and improve the quality of our projects.

    Voluntary Engagement and Training

We offer our mentors participatory opportunities within the association's work, exchange formats, feedback discussions, and training in cooperation with other social organizations. This not only ensures the quality of our project but also enables efficient and effective volunteering[3].

    Events and Community

We regularly organize events such as summer festivals, cultural events, and workshops that allow participants to network and expand their skills. These events are an important part of our work as they provide a platform for exchange and community building[2].

bee4change e.V. is a vibrant example of how voluntary engagement and professional project work can come together to create a fairer and more inclusive society. Through our diverse projects and initiatives, we contribute to ensuring that refugees in Germany find a second home and can fully realize their potential.
