Atze Musiktheater GmbH
The ATZE Musiktheater in Berlin is a leading center for children's and family entertainment. With over 380 annual performances and a dedicated ensemble, it promotes the individual development of young audiences through entertaining and educationally valuable productions.
ATZE is Germany's largest music theater for children, with over 100,000 visitors annually. The venue has three stages (480, 150, and 60 seats). The repertoire currently includes 30 productions, in which live music takes an equally important place alongside the acting. The visitors come from all Berlin districts as well as the 'Speckgürtel'.
The venue sees itself as a family theater that inspires and entertains both children and adults with high artistic quality. It aims to offer theater for all people, regardless of social affiliation, ethnic or religious background, gender, or educational level.
The word "Atze" means "big brother" or "best friend" in Berlin dialect. Both meanings express the programmatic claim of the venue.
