History and Team
editThe Aspen Institute Deutschland was founded in 1974 by Shepard Stone as the first foreign branch of the U.S. Aspen Institute in Europe. It was established amid the Cold War to promote American-German dialogue with the Eastern Bloc. Since January 2021, Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner has been leading the Institute, which is supported by a team of currently 21 employees[1][2][4].
