The main mission of the M.1 Hohenlockstedt / Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung is to promote artistic talents and provide a platform for innovative and international art. The founder, Arthur Boskamp, was himself a creative autodidact and enthusiast who wanted to give a voice and space to other artistic individuals[4].

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: The foundation promotes collaboration between artists, anthropologists, philosophers, and natural scientists, as exemplified in the "APIAN" project, which explores the relationships between humans and bees[2].
• Local and Global Orientation: By combining local cultural projects with international art exhibitions and residencies, a bridge is built between local and global cultural currents.
• Education and Community: The foundation is committed to the local community by providing cultural and educational offerings that appeal to both locals and international visitors.
