The Arbeitsgemeinschaft katholisch-sozialer Bildungswerke (AKSB) is a nationwide professional organization for political youth and adult education under Catholic sponsorship. Founded on April 23, 1952, the AKSB aims to be the central association of about 60 Catholic academies, educational institutions, associations, and federations to coordinate and promote Catholic social education work in Germany.

The AKSB offers a wide range of educational events that focus on extracurricular political youth and adult education. Annually, its member institutions reach around 25,000 participants through over 700 multi-day political education events. These events provide information and background on important topics, discuss issues of social coexistence, and reflect on socio-ethical orientations[2][4].

The main mission of the AKSB is to contribute to the strengthening of democracy in Germany and to promote democratic action. The work of the AKSB is guided by the Christian understanding of humanity and the fundamental principles of Catholic social teaching, which include personalism, subsidiarity, solidarity, common good orientation, and sustainability.
