editThe Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland e. V. (ASB) is a traditional yet modern aid and welfare organization that has been based on humanitarian and democratic principles since its founding in 1888. As a politically and confessionally independent association, the ASB is supported by over 1.5 million members and is divided into 16 state associations as well as around 250 regional and local branches. With more than 50,000 full-time and over 20,000 volunteer employees, the ASB is one of the largest aid organizations in Germany.

Special offerings include the emergency call system, which provides quick help at the push of a button, and the wish car, which fulfills a last wish for seriously ill people. As part of the project "Climate Protection – Here and Now," the ASB is working to measure the CO₂ footprint of its facilities and develop targeted climate protection measures. Initial successes have already been achieved in the areas of catering and energy, with measures for waste reduction and more climate-friendly meal planning being implemented.
International Aid

The ASB is active in over 30 countries, providing emergency aid, rehabilitation, and long-term development projects.
