AlgorithmWatch is a human rights organization based in Berlin that deals with the societal impacts of automated decision-making systems (ADM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). We advocate for such systems to strengthen human rights, democracy, and the rule of law, enabling freedom rather than supporting surveillance and dehumanization. We contribute through political campaigns, journalistic work, research, and technology development.
Therefore, our vision is: We strive for a world in which people benefit from the use of technology in general and from algorithmic systems in particular, making these societies fairer, more democratic, more inclusive, and more sustainable – whether in terms of ethnic origin, gender and sexual orientation, age, class and wealth, or resource consumption.
