The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Halle (Saale), Ger- many, invites applications for a
Researcher position on policy impact evaluation
for 24 months for now. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will be part of a project commissioned by the European Commission's DG Agri. The overarching task is contributing to evaluations and impact assessments related to the Com- mon Agricultural Policy. Furthermore, support in the drafting of reports and presentations is expected.
We expect:
- 1. MSc. degree or equivalent in agricultural economics or applied economics;
- 2. Interest in methods of policy analysis;
- 3. Individual commitment to research;
- 4. Fluency in English reading, writing and presentation;
- 5. Knowledge of any other official EU language would be an asset;
- 6. Communicability, openness and integration into teamwork;
We offer:
- 1. If interested, there will be an opportunity to develop a doctoral thesis under the supervision on Prof Dr Thomas Herzfeld. If so, participation in the German Doctoral Certificate Programme in Agricultural Economics (www.agraroekonomik.de) with teaching in the English language;
- 2. A unique research and qualification opportunity within a team of young scientists;
- 3. Support to organisation and collection of relevant data;
- 4. Support to model development, data analysis, simulations and thesis write-up;
- 5. Financial support to participation in international and regional academic conferences;
- 6. Support the preparation of publications for topical peer-reviewed journals.
The successful candidate will become a member of the IAMO Graduate School and apply for a doctoral degree from Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg. During the analysis and writing-up period of the dissertation, the doctoral student will be based at IAMO in Halle (Saale). The position is fully fi- nanced according to the German TV-L payment scheme scale E13 (50%) and is foreseen for 24 months. - 2. Curriculum vitae;
- 3. Copies of all relevant transcripts and certificates of bachelor, master or equivalent courses as well as English language certificates, if the MSc thesis was not written in English;
