Tasks
- Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of tax returns and related documentation for chosen entities.
- Deliver the data and conduct thorough reviews of tax calculations, payments, and disclosures prepared by external advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Advise on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes for the company.
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations, as well as keeping abreast of changes that may impact the organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as finance, legal, and operations teams to provide tax guidance and support for business initiatives and transactions.
- Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring timely responses and resolution.
- Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure effective tax compliance and risk management.
- Provide training and support to junior staff members on tax compliance issues and best practices.
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Legal, or a related field. Tax advisor title is preferred, but not required.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in tax compliance, preferable in an inhouse European tax role.
- Fluent English; fluent German is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deliveries and deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment under time pressure.
- Experience with tax software and ERP systems (Netsuite Oracle is an additional advantage) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
