Student assistant in the field of magnetron sputter epitaxy

The Fraunhofer-Institute for Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP works on innovative solutions for vacuum coating and the treatment of surfaces, liquids and gases.
We offer a position for a student assistant starting as soon as possible.
What you will do
The Fraunhofer FEP is currently working on the further development of the magnetron sputtering process in order to expand its potential applications in semiconductor production. The focus here is particularly on the growth of aluminum nitride and gallium nitride for use in power electronics.
We are looking for support in the following areas for this development work:
-
Preparation of equipment and equipment components for growth experiments,
-
Routine measurements on the layers produced, especially ellipsometry, AFM and XRD
-
Supervision of small experimental setups and performance of supporting experiments,
-
Maintenance and organization of the laboratory.
What you bring to the table
-
University study course (FH/Uni) in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, physical engineering or a comparable course of study
-
Basic knowledge of measurement technology, data evaluation and working with experimental setups,
-
Knowledge of plasma physics, thin-film technology and semiconductor physics is an advantage,
-
Confident handling of MS Office, Origin an advantage.
You should be a team player, communicative and open in dealing with eople. Tasks should be completed independently, goal-oriented and efficiently/pragmatically as weil as tlexibly.

The weekly working hours can be arranged flexibly in agreement with the employees and in consideration of the with the employee, but should be at least 10 hours per week.
