    Intro

    GITEC-IGIP is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with fluent English language proficiency, with international project experience and a strong professional network in Africa and Asia.

    Tasks

    • Project acquisition
    • Implementation/backstopping of ongoing projects
    • Strategic development of the department's business areas in the target regions
    • Professional development of the African/Asian portfolio and network
    • Overseeing project teams and providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in a relevant field (Agricultural Sciences, (Social) Geography, Sociology / Anthropology, Economics, Forestry, Livelihoods & Rural Development, or similar)
    • Full fluency in English; good command of French is an asset
    • Minimum of 10 years relevant professional experience, ideally 15 years +
    • Profound experience in technical and financial management of complex international projects in rural development, climate-smart agriculture and natural resources management
    • Relevant work experience with a strong professional network in Africa and Asia
    • Excellent communication and report writing skills
    • In-depth understanding of the development cooperation sector and publicly funded project landscape (e.g. EU, KfW, GIZ, ADB, etc.)
    • Interested in filling a long-term, sustainable position with growth perspective in Cologne, Germany
