Intro
The Senior Program Officer position at the Wikimedia Foundation involves implementing regional funding programs for Wikimedian communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. Tasks
- Implement regional funding programs for Wikimedian communities in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Support the grants cycle from start to finish
- Manage communications related to the grants cycle
- Coordinate with various teams for grant approvals and disbursements
- Evaluate grant processes and provide feedback to grantees
- Facilitate grants committees' decision-making processes
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the team
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of trust-based philanthropy or community-based grantmaking
- Experience in participatory decision-making structures
- Experience in grantmaking, particularly in an international context
- Experience in nonprofit capacity building
- Strong strategic and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and judgment
- Proven ability to create partnerships with communities and stakeholders
- Fluency in French and English
- Currently residing in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Global perspective with international experience
