Intro
In this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (all genders) role, you will join the VÆRIDION R&D team within the Technology division. You will be responsible for the overall configuration and mechanical design integration of VÆRIDION’s novel battery system for our CS-23 all-electric aircraft.
Tasks
- Lead the mechanical design and configuration of battery modules and battery systems.
- Develop detailed design specifications, drawings, and documentation to guide the manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Conduct Finite Element Analyses (FEA) to model and optimize the performance of composites, metals, and adhesives under various conditions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, materials, thermal, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of battery components.
- Troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions to enhance system safety and performance.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in battery system design.
Requirements
- Ideally a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the aerospace, automotive, or battery industries.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) for designing complex mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) (e.g., Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, or similar) for modelling composites, metals, and adhesives.
- Experience in developing and validating designs for high-performance applications.
- Knowledge of aerospace certification processes and documentation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of innovative mechanical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or other language would be beneficial.
