Senior IT Administrator (d/f/m)
Festanstellung, Vollzeit · Berlin
Why us?
We believe that AI has the potential to revolutionize how cancer and other complex diseases are diagnosed and treated. We also believe that AI is a tool, not an identity – without access to high-quality data and a scientifically rigorous, transparent approach to model development, AI is just a buzzword. That’s where we come in.
Aignostics is a spin-off from one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious university hospitals (Charité), with employees in Berlin and New York. We have received over $20M in funding from leading investors and are a growing team of over 100 interdisciplinary professionals. We work with academic partners as well as leading global life sciences companies.
As the Senior IT Administrator at Aignostics, you will own both the strategy and hands-on implementation of our workplace technology. You focus on maximizing productivity and satisfaction for our 100+ professionals across Berlin headquarters and international offices. You build and maintain the infrastructure and collaboration tools that enable everyone to work effectively – whether in our offices or remotely. Working in healthcare AI means you enforce security: crafting solutions that keep our sensitive data secure while keeping our teams agile and productive. This is a growth opportunity to both master cutting-edge workplace technologies and gain insights into AI-powered cancer diagnostics, while working with diverse experts to drive our mission forward. You report directly to our Head of DevOps, working alongside the DevOps team.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fun, diverse, and growing team of 100+ software engineers, applied scientists, biologists, and pathologists to shape the next generation of cancer treatments. You will be part of a driven community that works in an agile, supportive, and interdisciplinary research environment where your results make a difference to patients. In our established startup, you have the opportunity to grow personally and technically, take on significant responsibilities, and benefit from a dynamic work environment.
At Aignostics, we believe that fighting cancer is a job for people of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures. We value and celebrate diversity and inclusion and are committed to offering equal employment and promotion opportunities for all applicants and employees.
Where your expertise is needed
- Own and evolve our workplace technology: maximize team productivity while adhering to ISO 27001 and healthcare security standards, maintaining cost efficiency as we scale.
- Plan and build our complete workplace technology landscape: office IT infrastructure (network, WiFi, conference rooms), end-user devices (notebooks, peripherals), collaboration tools (video conferencing, chat, document sharing), access management, and SaaS application portfolio - ensuring a seamless experience whether in office or remote.
- Drive continuous improvement end-to-end: identify pain points and opportunities, evaluate solutions, execute transparent change management, and demonstrate success through user surveys and productivity metrics.
- Automate to drive consistency and efficiency: implement CI/CD pipelines for workplace changes, automate device provisioning and access management across the full employee and project lifecycle, and enable users to solve common IT needs independently by providing self-service solutions.
- Secure our workplace technology through robust architecture: enforce endpoint security, manage MDM policies, and collaborate directly with our security team to maintain state-of-the-art protection while keeping systems accessible.
- Support our colleagues with a proactive mindset: provide expert troubleshooting whether in office or remote, build AI-powered support solutions, and continuously improve our shared understanding of workplace technology.
What we are looking for
- Excellence in execution: track record of infrastructure migrations from planning to hands-on delivery
- Proven experience: 4+ years of owning workplace technology in fast-growing organizations, covering Linux, MacOS and Windows environments.
- Technical expert: deep knowledge of core platforms including Google Workspace, identity management (Okta), and MDM solutions (JumpCloud)
- Infrastructure architect: comprehensive foundation in enterprise networks, VPNs, WiFi, and GCP cloud infrastructure
- Automation champion: expertise in GitLab CI/CD, Argo, Python/Shell scripting, and infrastructure as code
- Security minded: deep understanding of security architecture, cybersecurity practices, and ISO 27001 implementation
- Outstanding communicator: ability to explain complex technical concepts, drive decisions, and collaborate across teams (fluent in English, German is a plus)
- Self-driven learner: stays current with technology trends, evaluates new solutions (including AI), and grows with our challenges
Ideally you also have:
- Office enthusiasm: enjoy being present in our Berlin office - while we support flexible work, this hands-on role thrives on in-person collaboration
- Certifications: relevant credentials in cloud (e.g., Google Cloud Professional, AWS Solutions Architect), workplace (Google Workspace Enterprise Admin), and security (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): hands-on experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar declarative infrastructure tools
- Virtualization & Orchestration: expertise with VM, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Development environments: proficiency with Nix Shell, dev containers, and reproducible build environments
We are still keen to hear from you if you don't match all the above points! Our needs are diverse and growing, and you are encouraged to apply if you have a strong combination of these skills.
