at the Chair of Geotechnics. The position is initially limited to 36 months. An extension is possible in accordance with the applicable regulations of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG). This is a full-time position with a weekly working time of 40 hours.
The employee will be actively involved in teaching (Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes) and research in the field of geotechnics. The research activities include in particular the development of numerical methods for simulating the installation of foundations for offshore wind turbines as part of the DFG-funded project »HCA 4 PInS: Development of a method for realistic simulation of pile installation using an HCA model«. 50% of the working time is earmarked for working on this project and the associated publication activities. In addition, the supervision of student theses in the above-mentioned subject area and administrative activities are also part of the job.
The opportunity for qualification (doctorate) in the above-mentioned subject area is given. We also offer flexible working hours in a varied, interdisciplinary field of activity.
Recruitment requirements:
- Completed Master's degree at a scientific university in civil engineering, preferably specialising in geotechnics
- Good knowledge in the field of (soil) mechanics, in particular with regard to numerical methods and material laws
- Experience with numerical calculations (especially finite element calculations) and corresponding simulation software (e.g. Abaqus, Ansys) as well as programming experience desirable
- Very good German and good English skills
- Ability to work in a team
The salary is based on the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the Federal States (TV-L) in accordance with personal requirements for pay group 13 TV-L.
