Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN), Frankfurt am Main
The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN) was founded in 1817 and is one of the most important research institutions in the field of biodiversity. At its 13 locations throughout Germany, scientists from more than 40 nations conduct cutting-edge research on an international scale. The Society's headquarter is in the Main metropolis of Frankfurt in the heart of Germany. This is also where one of the best-known Senckenberg facilities, the Senckenberg Natural History Museum, is located. The Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre (SBiK-F) explores the interactions between biodiversity, climate, and society.
Scientific Coordination of the Senckenberg Synthesis and Solutions Labs (m/f/d)
(Full-time / Part-time possible)
How can insect diversity be promoted? Which tree species belong in the "forest of the future"? What is needed for a conflict-free coexistence between humans and wolves? Answers to these and similar questions are to be developed in the future in so-called Solutions Labs. With a major programmatic expansion, Senckenberg, in collaboration with the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE), is establishing inter- and transdisciplinary Synthesis and Solutions Labs (short: Solutions Labs). The Solutions Labs act as “interface hubs” between science and society. A wide range of actors—from science, politics, and business to the general public—come together to jointly develop action options for the protection and promotion of biodiversity. The scientific management of the Solutions Labs, together with its team, fosters transdisciplinary collaboration in knowledge generation between scientific and societal actors (co-design, co-production, co-dissemination).
