Intro
The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) is seeking a research assistant in Peace & Security to join its Stabilization Lab project funded by the German Foreign Office. The role involves supporting dialogue, research on the European Union's external action and crisis management architecture, and engaging with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in European politics or related fields, a keen interest in European security policy, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of German or French is an asset. Tasks
- Support the Stabilization Lab project funded by the German Foreign Office
- Contribute to dialogue through workshops and public events
- Conduct research on the European Union's external action and crisis management architecture
- Run policy workshops
- Engage in stakeholder interactions with the German Foreign Office and other institutions
- Perform administrative duties and contribute to operational tasks within the institute
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in European politics, international relations, peace and conflict/security studies, or related field
- Interest in European security policy
- Analytical skills and ability to apply them to policy issues
- Experience in workshop design and facilitation
- Fluency in English, knowledge of German or French is a plus
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to conduct research and project work with guidance
- Willingness to work in a supportive project team
